Fred Armisen Concert Live at Wilbur Theatre | Boston – October 12th, 2026

Uptown Theater in Providence is one of those historic spots that somehow always manages to surprise you. It’s where the regional opera made its debut back in 2015 with La Traviata, and the set designs were honestly pretty jaw-dropping for a theater of its size. I mean, imagine catching a live jazz concert there to celebrate its 84th anniversary in 2012, alongside classic films, and feeling like you’re part of something special. Fast forward to july 20, 2019, and Uptown hosted a screening of The Lion King live-action remake that drew over 700 fans, talk about a night to remember. It’s a place that really knows how to bring people together, even during tough times, like in 2020 when the pandemic shut things down but they kept the spirit alive with virtual screenings that pulled in thousands. The seats are pretty decent too, with balcony spots offering great views and economy stage seats being closer but a bit less ideal. Getting there’s a breeze, if you’re coming from the Providence waterfront, just stroll along the river toward Waterman Street, or hop on Route 95 from the southern suburbs and follow the signs. And for Fred Armisen Providence fans, catching a show at Uptown Theater feels like stepping into a piece of local history with a lively, authentic vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else.
